The Tent/Snug

A door opens from the conservatory into the cosy TV room and snug built by a quixotic ancestor with a tent shaped ceiling to remind him of his Indian tent occupied whilst on colonial duties.

A comfy sofa and leather armchairs are grouped around a wide screen TV/DVD player. Old family photographs line the walls.

The Conservatory

This has a sunny, Mediterranean feel with a trellised grape vine overhanging a generously sized dining table and chairs on terracotta tiles, ideal for relaxed family meals.

It is also home to the full sized rocking horse, much loved by many generations.

The Kitchen

The modern kitchen is fully equipped with an electric cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine/drier, microwave, crockery and cooking utensils. Glass doors lead directly into the conservatory.

The Hall

The ground floor hall leads upstairs past paintings of legal, military and naval forbears.

A second entrance to the first floor is gained through the gardens, up granite steps to the side of the house, to a useful porch and boot room leading to the conservatory and kitchen.

The Drawing Room

Beautifully furnished with striking furniture this room displays the family’s ancestral portraits.

Relax on the Chesterfield sofa to read, or watch the TV/video/DVD player.
